Now what does this mean for Milwaukee? It means they will have a reliable backup for hopeful star Andrew Bogut. Gadzuric, a proven starter has shown hustle, intensity, and spirit.
However, just like with every player, there is a weakness. Dan has the tendency to get a little to aggressive, and pick up some early unwanted fouls. Also, his free-throw shooting is sub-par, but he has shown slight improvements through the course of the season. Now that he is coming off the bench this could that he will be a guy who can pick up some fouls on star centers like Shaq.
I don’t want people to get the impression that that is all he’s good for. Last year Gadzuric was first in the NBA in offensive rebounds per 48 minutes with 7.0. Dan coming off the bench could spark any team that has started out a little sluggish.
Finally, the Bucks now have a center that could fill in nicely for an injured starter. Now obviously I hope it will never come to that, but every player has injuries, and it’s always good to have a proven backup who could fill in those shoes.
